I want to put some flares on my truck, but I can't figure out what I want. I like the look of the OEM 2000+ flares, but from what I've determined there's two types, one that requires drilling and one that doesn't. Since it's possibly not likely that I'll find second hand OEM flares I have to look at bushwacker fenders. I think I would like to get as close to the OEM size fender that does not require drilling. Consider me stupid, but is that the OE bushwacker? I feel dumb, but I've been trying to figure this out for a while now. But I'm afraid without the actual flares in front of me I'm not going to get a concrete answer, unless I have the combined consensus of the tacaoma community. Thanks in advance for any info/ help.

I recently got the Bushwacker 1 1/2" extend a fender flair. No drilling needed and I think they look very close to oem. I've been happy with them.

My brother has a 96 exactly like yalls too. Just gave him my old fender flares that I had gotten off a 2000 Tacoma.

Your bro kigmob by any chance? I think there's a difference in size from a 2000 to a 2001+. From the Toyota Tacoma OEM flare styles there's one that you have to drill for and one that you don't.

Not my brother haha. There is a difference in size from 98-00 and 01-04. 01-04 flares are the largest ones. They are mounted up by screws in the inner fender and clips that go into square holes on the exterior of the fender. The 98-00 flares are smaller and only mount up using the inner fender screws (these are the flares I have). These screws used the exact same holes as my chrome trim. I also believe there were some other flares in 98-00 which were really small, but bigger than the chrome trim most 95-97 tacomas have. Hope this helps.
