I just got a ARE camper shell for my truck, and i m getting it painted tomorrow. My truck is a 08 with the crappy white. I want feedback if I should go white or a satin black (I had a soft topper on it and I liked the black.) I have a front and back BruteForce bumpers on the way that will also be satin black. My rims are FJ bullet holes powered coated white, with black plasic flares. The shell is white now but needs repainted

What color should I go with

I think the white looks good. Love those white steelies too. Been thinking about painting the steel wheels on my fj white.

If it were me, I would hold off on getting it painted until the bumpers are here and install them before you decide to change the shell color. Just my .02. You may like the look when the bumpers are on and the shell being white.

Personally, if I saw your truck with a black cap, I'd assume you had just bought the cap and were on your way to the paint shop, but that's just me.

I think the soft top in black has a much more logical feel to it.

This is kind of how it would look, I like the white myself, but I am bias! :)

100% white. FWIW I was lucky. Found the exact year, engine, tranny, and most importantly color truck as mine at a small dealership where they didn't want the topper in trying to re-sell that truck. Bonus it was a hi-topper which is what I wanted. Bam!

Never mind the leaches errr I mean kids detracting from the beauty of my ride!

Going to also put a rack on it, want Thule (all the stuff on the cab is Thule) but man there setup for a shell gets pricy with every piece you need. Question is, think its possble to go to a pick n pull and pull a factory roof setup off a SUV and make it work on a shell and then just use Thule croobars that connect to factory rails.

Keeping it factory matched white would be alot easier to re-sell. What you can do is paint it white and plastidip it black if you want to temporarily change the look.

Matte black plasti dip it and save hundreds. Then if you don't like it 6 months down the road, you can have it color matched

If that had black wheels I think it would look much better with the black cap.
