Hey all just trying to see what people have to say about spots to wheel in or around VA. I have been trying to locate and figure out where there are some good trails and camping spots and I know of a few places like Shoe Creek and Flagpole and the other place near Harrisonburg but that about all I know so if anyone has any input please let know. Ever I it's in North Carolina or West Virginia that's fine just let me know what all is out there. Thanks all.

Not a whole lot around except in the mountains. I know of one place south of Richmond but I cannot say if its legal or not. I went there for a recovery one night. Its been there as a dirt bike/4 wheeler place as long back as I can remember

Pretty much stuck with shoe creek and flagpole although there are a handful of us working on the Mt. Rogers loop right now. We have to wait for spring road openings to test it out, but it looks to be over 100 miles of "expo" riding forest roads and abandoned roads.

There's always USFS roads in Monongahela in the winter. Do not go alone though, many a rescue effort has been launched by local 4wd clubs when a small group or line member has gotten stuck up there.

Fill me in on the Mt. Rogers loop, live in Chilhowie at the foot of Mt. Rogers.

Other than the standard forest roads I am not familiar with anything else.

We're attempting to piece together a loop from GSMNP to Jefferson and GW National forests that are mainly forest roads and abandoned roads. No real "wheeling" mostly just an overland route in the tristate area. Have to make due with what we have.

I'm curious about this Mt Rogers expedition and would most definitely like to check that out. I hate being so limited to places here in VA there's so much land and so many spots but everything's gotta be private or can't drive here or do this here. Tires of all the rules. Sorry guys just ranting.

This! The only place I know of where I'm at is the pits behind Merchant's Tires on Battlefield, and you can't get through that shit unless you're built as hell, as I found out. :anonymous: Not to mention, I'm pretty sure it's illegal right there.
