2009Silver I was thinking about using the trailer wiring but my tow package came only with the old standard 4 pin connector.

Evil Monkey, I know how strict they are in CA about their colored lights sometimes. I got a fix it ticket on my RR because the previous owner of the RR put a small red light instread of white (194 wedge bulb) in the front, they call the litle cyclops light. I don't think I'll put a switch in the cabin, I've got a tonneau cover so if I even accidentally leave them on they won't be seen.

So I can't put blue christmas lights in my bed for christmas? :( j/k Thanks for the reminder.

I used LED light strips that I got off ebay for about $15. I got 2x 3' sections - one for each side. They are very thin strips with an adhesive backing. I tucked them under the cleat rails and used small pieces of 3M double sided tape every 6" or so. Unless trying, you cannot see them when they are off.

I have some pictures of them on that I'll post when I can. They are awesome. I use them so I can see things in my bed at night or when the tonneau is down. I don't need much light back there and these are just enough.

Here are the lights I used:
