Did I order the correct rear KINGS?

Being that I cant pick up my suspension for a a few weeks...My mind is playing tricks on me. And I am paranoid, possibly because I am super excited or because I searched for hours only to not find my answer.

Micah at DSM was really awesome to deal with and made the transaction very simple, shocks were shipped a lot faster than we originally thought they would. Im not trying to second guess these guys, just trying to find someone with a similar set up.

The problem is in the rear, I have Dakars with the

$77 D29XL Leaf Spring

D29XL add a leaf to compensate for my leer XQ canopy and cbi rear swing out bumper with full size spare and most often at least one jerry can of fuel. I ordered the 2.5" RR King OEM shocks built for a lifted application ie 1" longer eyelet and shorter seal cap. Giving you a 25.54 ext and 16.83 comp length set up. I run 255/85r16 tires.

Currently unloaded ( well with a few bags of gravel for winter traction ) and the vehicle at rest I have a static shock length ( bottom of threads to center of eyelet ) of 21" in theory this would give me 4.54" more down travel and about 4.17" of up travel giving a total travel of 8.71". I know I should have used a forklift to get an exact compressed and collapsed length, but my visa was burning a hole in my right ass cheek and I was excited to get this ordered.

I understand these are already longer than the N182's ( by a few inches I think ) that I currently have but should I have ordered a 10" 2.0 smoothy and had them custom valved by the boys at DSM?

Bump...sub'd for answers as I have same leaf spring setup.

My research says we should be running closer to 28" extended, but would have to modify bumps...or run shorter shocks (like you ordered) and run straps for droop.

 

I am confident these will work. After emailing with the guys at DSM. I need to sit back and wait for them to get here....Should have them this week

ya, not fancy ass fox or other pimp brand but for under $100 cdn a pair they're a good choice.

 

fyi the n182's are 23.9 extended so you're getting a bit more. i run a sky jacker rear shock that is 24.75, only cause they were avail overnight whereas the procomps were about a 2 weeks, wish i could have waited and gone with a longer procomp... but not so much longer that i needed to play with bump stop extensions
