have not posted in a while and haven't done to much to my taco. i did however got a hold of a docking bay light fixture from work that the warehouse guy ran into and bent up. was still in good condition other than the bent arm and smashed light bulb housing. well, since my boss is throwing it away i decided to cut the bent arm and fab a small support bracket and try straightening/rounding the smashed light bulb housing back to fit a light bulb.
well, heres some picture of it. nothing fancy though and it does work. ill try and get some night pictures also

actually, my plan is to use it when i go fishing. i usually get there before daybreak and instead of bringing my lantern or trying to hold my flash light and get my stuff out of the bed. i just turn that on. also, it just bolts right into my rails so i can take it in and out and it plugs right into the bed outlet. i have also used it this weekend for lighting to get my tow strap onto cars that was stuck in the ditch from this snow we just had.

That's bad ass . I was thinking of building something similar to that for when I go camping and hunting . :)

    good idea
i'd put a grill on it so nothing hits it. If you carry much stuff in your bed.

Good idea but be careful you don't burn down your truck with that, those lights get really hot and stay hot long after they're turned off. Composite bed and fiberglass cap mixed with extreme heat/hot metal and glass don't make for good friends. Just a suggestion to not store it against the bedside or cap.

@ numbers: thought about the grill at first and i even cut one out from an old sifting screen that was also in the recycle bin but i didnt like it much after putting it up against it.

@ midnightrebel07: thanks man. didnt think about how hot itll get, let alone catching the bed on fire. probably going to keep it on for a while and see how hot itll actually get and put it in a better angle to keep it away from the bed and camber
