    Hello all,

There was some interest, so I thought I'd share how I made my bi-xenon offroad lights.

I started with Vision X 6504 low/high beam halogen lights:

Then, my wife got me this H4 bi-xenon kit from TRS:

So, the goal was to make the TRS 55W kit work with the Vision X setup that I currently owned.

So, first, I removed and disassembled the lights to try to fit my TRS ballasts into the housing. That didn't work, as the ballasts were simply too big:

So, I found a good place for the ballasts behind my grill:

Next, I test fitted the HID bulbs into the housing. I had to bend the housing a little bit to get them to fit, but the ended up fitting nicely:

Next, I had to figure out wiring. The Vision X setup used a H13 connector setup, with strangely shaped H13s. So, I cut one off and made a H4-H13 jumper. Not pretty, but it works:

Next, I had to figure out how to pass the HID wiring through the housing. So, I widened the pass through hole in the back:

Then I trimmed the HID ARM connectors a bit.

Here, you can see that the trimming paid off:

Finally, I had to come up with a weather proof solution for my pass through hole. Here's what I did.

I bought some rubber grommets at Ace Hardware:

I sliced them down to fit in my pass through:

And, finally, I sealed the back with "The Right Stuff":

Using my jumper, I combined the TRS wiring with the Vision X low/High beam wiring and test fired one light on the truck:

Everything worked, so I installed the other light and adjusted them. I kept the low beams lower than my headlights to keep glare away from on coming cars. The beams aren't as clean or even as projectors but they don't spill light above their cutoff.
    P1050824_zpsa2a23878_c0e89abe3e9887d718de9a0cdc28eabe62a0ffbd.jpg

You can see my regular headlight beams just above the HIDs here:

And here is a picture of the high beam pattern:

Here is what they look like in actual use:

Here is an attempt to show the glare from the lights.

Finally, I threw on my yellow lenses and called it a day:

So, for $135 I got the functionality of a $1200 Vision X bi-xenon setup! If anyone has any question or comments, feel free to post up and I hope someone finds this helpful.
