What kind of Roof rack do you use? I have a 2013 DCLB not sure what to put on top. Baja rack, OEM Thule, Yakima or something else.

I personally like the frontrunner rack. Holds a lot more weight and it bolts onto factory mounts. A little bit pricey@ just under $800. I saw one on another Tacoma and liked the look. Needless to say I'm saving up for that one. www.frontrunneroutfitters.com

I have a Frontrunner rack currently on my '12. I don't have any other racks to compare it to, but I like it. I don't think it's worth $800 though. They have a nice accessory shop for them, but shipping quotes are outrageous, and the quality is mediocre.

I can stand on my roof rack without problems if that says anything. Just get an extra hardware pack and the eye bolts and you should be set.

Depends on what you plan on using it for. I am adding the the OEM ( ordered yesterday $231.25 delivered) I rarely use the rack on my other vehicles other than for a canoe or kayak, surfboard, or a long pipe or piece of wood or ladder. If it's heavy it's going in the bed. If it's BIG & Heavy I hook hook up the trailer.

*Edit, doh misread your post. You said rack not basket.

I mounted an ARB 52x44 roof basket but had to make some custom mounts to do it. You can see some more on my build thread, link is in my sig.

I use the OEM rack as siderails. Thule crossbars. I already had the Thule CBs, wanted more clearance and also wanted to utilize a wind fairing. I use it w/a roof basket to carry extras when going on trips, camping etc. As bvl pointed out, anything heavy goes in the bed.
