I know I threw this out there about a month ago, but is anyone here planning on going to Rock Therapy 2014 in Moab? Just trying to get an idea who might want to make the convoy out there with me. I'm going! Gonna book my vacation this week...

The Baja is fine for moderate or occasional off roading but any more than that and you can set it much nicer with an after-market suspension. I suppose one should take this into account prior to spending the extra $$$$.

 

My mechanic still has the total I spent at his shop over the years while I was building my Golf. One of these days I'll ask him what the total was. I really don't care to know at this point.

The truck on the other hand is a lot easier to manage. Yes, aftermarket parts are expensive, but they're available. Most of the stuff on the Golf was a one-off.

including trial and error attemps with parts and projects that had to be scrapped, abandoned, or sold at a loss, as and including the off road trailer, i'm in it about as much as the truck itself costs.

anyone ever used one of these? came highly recomended from a buddy. safe to use in tents and he says they will keep a tent at 90 degrees during a snow storm if you so please.

except that it was 22 degrees last night, and i have multiple camping trips right around the corner.....and am only in texas for another half year.

i have a small electric heater that have used stored for 3 years.

it's Amazon prome, meaning that for $4 i can have it on my doorstep the next day, so i'm thinking i'll wait until each trip gets closer, and if the weather looks miserable, i'll buy it in time for the trip. certainly more usefull than a $500 bar tab
