Driving Vibration

Hello I havea 09 tacoma stock.4WD, TRD Package, split(2peice) drive shaft118K. Problem started around this mileage maybe around 117+ . I was driving one day and a terrible shudder and noise started happening to my truck. It was violent shudder and intermitent that day.... looked under truck could not see anything... as time went on the violent shudder stopped but it had a "slight vibration when driving at any speed... I think/now I can hear a slight whistle noise like when your window is slightly open. I have changes my rear and front diff fluids... the fluid was clean. I have looked at the center bearing the rubber is intact. I can move the drive shaft about an 1/2" to 3/4".. the play to me seems normal due to it being a split drive shaft, also the universals look ok, I did not pull the drive shaft down yet. Has anyone had this problem and or does anyone have any suggestions or trouble shooting techniques for me before I start buying parts ( U joints and or just the Carrier bearing. I think it maybe the Carrier bearing/bushing but not sure. If any experienced taco guys live in NY/NJ maybe you could help me out. Thank you everyone for your thoughts. Email me.

 

I have 60,000 on a 2010 4 door long bed. Changed carrier bearing and three universal joints. No change. Took it to the dealer. They drove it and it sounds normal to them. I picked it up today. I have no idea as to what to do next. This all happened in the last 2 days.

 

I just returned from the dealer with a loaner. 30K miles and had a vibration at 50 mph that stopped at 55 mph. I had the tires balanced and realized it was something more. Tech took it for a test drive and immediately noticed it. He advised that there had been a couple of service bulletins went through the process of checking the u joints and determined that I need a new drive shaft. Should have it back tomorrow afternoon and I will update.
