    04 Tacoma SR5 TRD PACKAGE
    Hi Guys,

new to this website and this is my first tacoma. i own a 2004 Tacoma SR5 w/TRD package and when i first bought, i thought it was have an indicator of what gear i'm in for my transmission on my dash board/cluster. it turns out that theres nothing there, but there is a spot for it.

Does the 04 not come with an indicator? and if it doesn't, can i install one? I would like to have one on my truck.

    My 04 TRD does not.
Don't find the need, as it is an automatic, and has a lighted indicator on the shift console.

    Welcome to the forum.

I have the same vehicle, and no, they do not have dash indicators. With it only having four gears, once you put more than a few miles on it of driving around you should know what gear it is in based off of the rpm vs mph. It is an auto afterall... if you need to drop it down a gear just push on the skinny pedal.
