I am looking at the 265/75-16 size for my next tires and I am considering the Toyo Open Country AT II.

I have a couple of questions:

    1. 10-ply (E), 6-ply (C) or P-metric? I do a lot of off road driving in the desert, mountains, etc. over rocks. I have not had any flat issues with Michelin LTX MS2 or AT2 in P265/70R16. How tough are the P265/75R16 AT II's on a light truck like a 2nd gen?

    2. How do these wear on a 2nd gen?

    3. Where to buy them? I usually buy tires at Discount Tire, but they do not carry Toyo's anymore. I see them on-line at Tread Depot, anybody have trouble getting internet tires installed?

    4. Other good choices in 265/75-16 ?

I have the Open Country ATII's in a LT275/65R18 E/10. These have awesome offroad traction and wear like iron. E load range 10 ply is a bit overkill for a Mid-Size truck like the Tacoma but so far I've got no complaints. Just depends on what you're going to be doing a lot of, highway driving, off road, etc. If it's highway stuff I would stick with a P-Metric size as it is lighter and closer to OE weight. If you need heavy duty an E or C load will be more than enough.

check out toyotires.com and look up the dealer finder to find the nearest dealer. 4 Wheel Parts also carries Toyo as well.

I am running these in a LT265/75R16E. They are great on snow/ice packed roads and wet roads. They are wearing pretty well. Deep snow they suck, and deep gooey mud they suck, not this particular tires fault though, I needed a mud terrain. They are an all terrain, so expect all terrain performance. They ride smooth and balance pretty easily. I got mine from a small local tire shop, so no help there, sorry.
