Higher RPM when heaters engaged

    So I noticed this morning when I started my truck that it was at a higher RPM when the heater was running, I believe this just started happening or I could've just noticed it today. Is this normal or a problem?

    If you weren't in defrost, and ac was off, then there would be a problem. Think our rigs have a high idle setting while the compressor is in engaged to compensate for the power loss also, I notice it is a bit higher than normal idle.

    Apparently if you have the defrost on and the ambient temp is above 0*F the ac will run automatically and the ac light will not turn on in the cab to notify you of this. It's common in most vehicles maybe someone has a link to share, I'm too lazy! Lol
