Looking for suggestions for upgrading my stock headlights. I have found some that I like but wanted to ask around. I have a 2011 dbl cab. The ones I've found that I like so far are in the following link.

    10000k?

    Prepare for a :crapstorm:

Also those ballasts they use are cheaply made, and you will have issues with them.

The combination of 55w and 10000k will almost certainly get you pulled over. Go with 35w and something 6k or under. Note that also you will not get as much light out of as a 4300/5000/6000k.

    It's the wife's T4R so it's stock
at 10k you your lights will appear dim.

For ultimate in upgrading lighting, look into an HID retrofit.... or LED headlights...

Putting HID bulbs in a stock housing scatters the light (according to the internet) and blind oncoming drivers.

1000k all you will get is that purple blue color and that's about it

you wont see squat. you will piss/blind every other drivers around you.

like they said stay between 4300k-6000k.

and if you really want to do it the right away. RETROFIT!

Great, thanks for the insight. I'll look into the retro fit first or should it be done at the same time?

That's for the video of the retro fit. I'm sure I could do that but I don't want to screw it up. Would it be better to get new light assemblies that are already setup for HID lights? The thing that "worries" me is that I would have to open the stock light assemblies.

That's the reason I bought a second set of headlights. My truck won't be down with no lights while I work on them

Glad to see this has already been pointed out.
    * HIDs should be in Projectors
    * TRS retrofit or other after market projector housings
    * K describes the color of the bulbs
    * 4300K to 6000K is the best/brightest usable color

Shameless plug for slimcubby *no affliation except that I use his product*
His kits are quality and work well in both TRS and aftermarket projectors.

4300k is brightest, 5000k (which I went with this retrofit) is still bright but pure white and 6000k is still bright but slightly blue.

If you retrofit you will smile every time you hit the high beams or see your cutoff flicker off something. Just a warning.

Here is me going by an impala with an 8000k plug and play kit. Looks green in the pic for some reason.

my bike, stock projectors with 8000k bulbs. Blue doesn't look cool, one it looks stupid and light output sucks. I learned that the second I put them in and immediately went to 5000k.

Although I did get a pretty picture when i had the blue ones in ;)

Yup that is what i am looking for. If it better to get another set of lights then it would be best for me to save up and get a pair that has the reto fit already in it.

I got mine at a great price, bought from a member here. But you can find cheapos on fleabay for under a 100, put those on the truck while you do your retro.

I've seen spare sets of lights go for as cheap as $80.

Do the group buy for the retrofit around $260 and put them together. So worth it!

    Is $260 for a mini or D2s?

Although, I'm thinking of going to a 4300K bulb from a 5000K. The 5K doesn't seem as effective as a 4300 to me.
