I was recently backing up out of a tight parking situation and had my wheel cut all the way to the left. After I got out of the spot I was parked in and started driving, I noticed that the steering was now "rough" in certain spots, almost jumpy. When I turn the wheel now, there is resistance in certain areas. Did I damage something when I was backing up with the wheel cut all the way? Can this be fixed?

The column ujoint just above the steering rack is my first suspect - there have been mulitiple cases of them seizing up, and will cause the symptoms you describe. You can try spyaying it with penetrating lube,, if the feel returns to normal, replace the lower shaft as the "fix" won't last and binding steering isn't something to take chances on.
