    Hey Tacoma World,

Let me reintroduce you to my 2013 TRD Sport DCSB Taoma that I call Rue! 3 years ago I made an attempt at a built thread but it wasn't that good so today after some revamping here is the new build thread.

Rue and I scoping out the trail we just climbed.

Rolled over 100,000 Km of awesome adventures in this truck and couldn't be happier! Rue, on the other hand decided to celebrate by intermittently throwing a CEL for a coil pack malfunction.

The code being tripped is PO356. I am going to move the coil pack on cylinder #6 to cylinder #1, if it throws code PO351 then I'll replace the coil. If the a new CEL isn't tripped then ghosts, if PO356 continues then its going to Toyota.

Has anyone else had to replace their coil packs?

@TheNatural Thank you! I love your build by the way. Are you from Penticton? I'm from Kelowna.

The CEL is really hit or miss in that sometimes it doesn't come on and sometimes it does. I drove Calgary to Kelowna and back and it came on once but now that I'm back in Calgary it is a daily occurrence. Time to replace the coil pack on Cylinder #6.

For those that don't know the firing order of the 4L 1GR-FE is: 1-2-3-4-5-6

Yup, I grew up in Penticton. My parents and some other family are still there so I visit a couple times a year, but I'm up in Fort Nelson now.

@TheNatural Nice, my family is still back in Kelowna. Damn I want to move back one day. A group of us are planning a trip to Tuktoyuktak and will most likely be swinging through Ft. Nelson.

Regarding the CEL for coil pack malfunction, it most likely was a result of my error. The connect on the coil pack was loose, after cleaning it and fixing my mistake everything seems to be running perfect now.

Now to order some sound deadener for my truck, the wheel and road noise in the Tacoma is ridiculous. I plan copying @Crom by using sound deadner, insulation and MLV.

Very nice build. Good luck with the CEL, I'm sure you'll solve it.

    I like this:
    • Factory skids (I like to play with fire and test my luck)

That make two of us! lol ;)

@Crom Thank you! I've idealized your build for years and have decided to copy many aspects as I feel you've modified your truck to increase driver/passenger pleasure, off road performance and prolong it's life.

I put my truck on the hoist at work recently and Wow my skids have taken some hits, even my gas tank had some scuffs so there might be some changes in this area.

I'd love your thoughts on this sound deadner before I pull the trigger.

    You're welcome.

yeah once in a while I'll reform the factory skids with a 4-lb hammer in the front yard. :D They're more like spash guards! Better than nothing really.

re: the sound product. I can't tell what it's made of from the product description. It might work, I don't know. The commodity your searching for should be aluminum backed butyl mat, self adhesive. I'd try to stick to reputable brands if it were my truck, or be 100% of what it's made of. The Noico stuff is what I used, good cost/benefit, IMO

Today is my birthday:headbang: so to celebrate I have ordered some more parts :broccoli:

@Crom I've ordered the Noico as the positive reviews were overwhelming. Now finding MLV is proving difficult to track down in Canada.:canada:

Also thinking of making a custom "lock box" out of an old ammo can to go behind the rear seat for valuables when we go hiking and leave the truck.
