Ok Guys here is what I am planning on bear in mind its been a long time since I have looked into a sound system like 20 years. I know I'm old bite me.
It is going into my 2013 Double Cab TRD Sport so I have room to mess with here but would like to maintain some storage space. Plus I am not looking to shatter windows or boom out the neighbors. Looking for better quality enjoyable sound, I listen to everything from classic rock to grunge, rap and country.
Head Unit: Looking at two both Pioneer and could use some thoughts and\or opinions 1. AVIC-X950BH, I like the way the controls are stacked on the left, drivers side, or 2. AVH-X8500BHS, I like the larger screen and overall I like the look of the unit better. I want DVD but don't need the Nav

    Front Speakers: Polk Audio DXi6501

Rear Speakers: Polk 651 or Rockford Fosgate Punch P165 I could use advice on which one.

Sub Woofer : The Sound Ordnance B-8PTD rear behind the seat mounting huge plus for me.

AMP: Alpine MRP-F300 I could really use advice and guidance on this one!!

Well there you have it, nothing is ordered yet so changes can be made. Let me know what you all think!

    Thanks in advance

I'd go with the Polk Audio DXi651 for the rears. The Rockfords are good speakers, but most people think it sounds better when all the speakers are the same brand.

I'd also probably go with the Pioneer AVH-X8500BHS. Its much cheaper than the AVIC-X950BH. The main reason for the price difference is navigation. If you don't really want it and think you won't use it that much, save yourself the money and go with the 8500.

Everything else, including the amplifier, looks like it will be a good system.

The only other advice I have is to try to make it to a car audio shop prior to purchasing so you can listen to the speakers. I'm sure they sound fine, but its always important to make sure they're the best speakers for you. The only way to know that is to go and listen to them and others. You might end up thinking some Rockford Fosgates sound better.

Hey thanks Bud for posting I was actually thinking the same thing after I posted. Gonna go with the Polks all around and yeah I agree with the head unit I really don't use Nav at all so the 8500 seems the way to go!

I have the 8500bhs and you can still do nav with your smartphone if you want to buy the $60 cord. The radio is great, but the screen is washed out in the sun and very hard to see with sunglasses on. I love everything else about it though.

Yeah I have been doing research for about a month on this little project I got going on. I have heard and read about the washout issue quite honestly I do 90% at night, and I really do use the steering wheel controls to their full potential. But thank you for the heads up.

Don't know where you're at in jersey but your welcome to give my setup a listen if you want. I went with an alpine hu, mb quart 6 1/2s in all doors and a ads 4ch amp. I haven't added a sub yet and not sure if I will.

Thanks for the offer I am in South Jersey by Philly I would love to but my work schedule is a night mare right now. Getting to meet up would be real hard. I'm still researching and see what pops up on my radar.
