Relative newbie here...so here goes. One of the mods I've seen here, and is on my to-do list, is the Aux Backup Light Mod, using LED Light Bars. I have a 14 Taco with the Backup Camera. I see that the popular choice is CREE LED's, so I'm on board there.

My question, for you guys that have done it, is did you use a pair of Spots or Floods? And what wattage did you go with? As always, info and advice is always appreciated!

I have a flood / work light off of a D-6 CAT mounted next to my trailer plug. completely shock and waterproof.I just changed out the 24V bulb for a 12V 55watt bulb. not pretty but it works.

I'm thinking if doing the same and i'm figuring floods would be enough. I mean we really only need to see maybe 5-10ft....i think a spot would just be to focused on one point if you were up close to a wall, guard rail, trailer, etc. hell i don't know i'm indecisive....thats why i haven't done it :(

Flood would be best for reverse lights since you'll get a short but wide beam pattern. It will light up the area you can see in the backup camera. A spot beam is narrow and meant for distance.
