After searching for quite sometime I found a 2006 Tacoma double cab long bed with TRD Sport package. I went to check the truck out and noticed quite a bit of surface rust in the engine bay. Such as the pulleys, bolts, and exhaust mainifolds. As well as some parts of the underside. It is originally from Ohio and came to Washington 3 years ago. The truck had the unside coated when it was new. So it sounds like someone was thinking long term with it. Other then the rust issues it drove fine, and the 4x4 all engaged smoothly as well.

I have read a few people say the rust is normal being an east coast truck, and would happen over the coarse of a few winters. Others say run away and find something else.

So TW, what do you think?

    Truck has 96,000 miles.

First off, that add is bogus. dclb sports dont come with rear diff lock. Obviously the sellers don't know much about tacomas. That being said, yes overpriced to me, especially with rust in the engine bay.

Accident maybe?? It could very well be the camera and lighting, but the front area side (between the doors) appears to be a different shade of color than the back.

The passeneger side appears ok though.

Well being a tech at Lexus. I was able to look up the history on the truck. Turns out it had a check engine light on for corrosion on the harness. A P0705 if I remember correctly. The TSB to remedy that is to either clean the corrosion or, if to far gone replace the whole harness. The tech at Toyota wrote on the repair order to replace the entire engine harness. So, it could need a harness. Looks like I will pass on that.

It's amazing how much more Tacomas go for in this area. That is really not a bad price if the truck didn't have so much rust and the possible harness issue. Guess I will continue the search!

Yeah the market out here is ridiculous. But I am looking for preferably a double cab long bed. Trd sport is a huge plus. But if I found a good deal on an access cab, that would be fine as well.
