    Meguiars ultimate compound.

Removes oxidation, scratches, hazing and makes old cars look new again. I even use it on old guitars

Go around the hole car with it by hand or use a buffer and a microfiber pad. I do it for customers out in the parking lot all the time.Had a completely sun baked hood and a few seconds after wiping it on by hand you could see the original color through the crap.

I'll try to post my pictures...

My girlfriends old plastic saturn. The entire car looked like this scuffs and scratches.

The entire car got some ultimate compound followed by wax and brought out the color purple again.

+1 on the Ultimate Compound. You can also use a polishing compound on clear coat, it's a bit more agressive than the Ultimate Compound, just start with a small patch on an out of the way spot to ensure it's not too agressive.

What you are seeing is more than likely lots of small scratches in the clear coat and/or oxidation of the clear coat. The Meguiars will work wonders on that. Clay bar will not remove scratches and oxidation, but will remove dirt and other particulates stuck in the clear coat. Automatic car washes are known to leave all kinds of scratches in clear coat/paint.

If it's quite bad, you might want to consider getting a DA polisher to reduce some of the effort. Otherwise allocate yourself a good afternoon and proceed to rub one out!

Meguiars is the best I have seen! I use it to clear up paint on a lot of cars. It is incredible! Especially if you have an orbital wool polisher!

My favorite thing about the ultimate compound is I'm not afraid to use it on a customers car.

If you get to aggresive with some polishing compounds and rubbing compounds you will dull the whole car's clear coat.

Instead the ultimate compound, as far as I have seen can do nothing but help

Meguiar's rubbing compound is quality stuff that you can find anywhere. I just did the same to my Jeep with really bad oxidation:
