skids ap and bud built

    Can someone tell me why AP IFS skids weigh 54lbs and Budbuilts front skids weigh 39lbs ?
    I must be missing something weighing 15 pounds. But I don't see the diff in pics.

    allpro long travel, shackle flip with ome dakars, cruisin offroad bumpers and sliders, 4.88 gears with arb's front and rear, budbuilt skids.
    allpros front/ifs skid goes from the front bumper mount to the second crossmember. budbuilts front skid goes from the bumper mount to the first crossmember, budbuilts mid skid goes from front crossmember to just before the tranny mount where is meets with the t case skid. while allpro just has a simple tranny skid and a seperate t case skid that starts after the tranny mount.

    allpro skids can be used separately while budbuilt skid should only really be used all together.

    I have budbuilt skids from front to the tcase. I considered allpro but have seen a few buddies twist them up pretty good when stuck on rocks. And the tranny skid doesnt protect much.

    OK. I appreciate your input.
    On another note, I see Bud's combo deal page states that
    "Low hanging exhaust crossover pipe is protected with a smooth sheet of steel."
    I had the exhaust rerouted and don't want to lose clearance by adding a low hanging skid.
    What's yourtake on this since I can't seem to get an answer from Bud?

    Iff you have the exhaust rerouted you just don't use the spacer for the tcase skid. Im waiting for my twin stick case to go in before I reroute my exhaust, then I will just pull the spacer and gain some clearence.
