some kind of fan noise if I drive early in the cold morning

This doesnt happen always. but I have noticed it several times. especially, IF I drive for first few minutes on a cold morning, I hear some kind of a fan noise.

any one had this experience before?

 

Is it over by the glove box?

 

Very common noise in 2nd gens. Do some searching. Some people have posted threads of DIY fixes. I have the chirp and have just learned to love it frusty: )

 

sometimes I thought that the heater/defroster has to do with it because I would run that. but I think there have been other times when the heat was running at all and I could clearly hear that noise. I opened the hood and looked but nothing obvious.

I cant say that its coming from the glove box or not. maybe it is.

 

If it sounds like its under the hood it is probably the engine fan clutch.
