So i bought my girl the ring (haven't given it to here yet), but she had an idea to get me a engagement gift.

She said a nice shotgun, so of coarse I said yes! lol

Anyway I was thinking the Browning Cynergy. I really like the hedge mechanism. Does anyone have any experience with this gun? Or any other suggestions?

    get what fits you best.
I like Citori's and they have better resale than Cynergy's.
Get a Citori White Lightning with 28" Inv+ barrels.
Do not get a Turkish gun.
You will never get the value out of them.

    Good to know!

I don't really intend to ever sell it I was thinking more of an heirloom.

One more question - ejectors or extractors

I prefer extractors for skeet and trap, just so I don't have to bend over and pick up empty shells, don't exactly need speedy reloads.

I was going to suggest a Mossberg Silver Reserve II, but it seems like your budget is way above that if you are looking at Brownings.

    Ejectors.
You will quickly learn to break the action with your left hand and 'catch' the ejected hulls with your right.
I don't think you have a choice on a Citori.
BTW, I handled the new Citori 725 recently and it is much more like a Beretta than previous Citoris.
That is not a good thing for me as the Brownings fit me much better than the Berettas.
    FYI.

+ 1 on this. You will be holding the grip area already with your right hand so it is just a matter of sliding the latch with your thumb and having your right fingers extended when it breaks open. The hulls will stop right there blocked by your fingers.
