I do not see myself as a truck owner; I just got tired of fighting my driveway in the winter and mud seasons (The 4 seasons of Ohio: almost winter, winter, still winter, and construction).

I looked for the smallest and cheapest 4WD with decent cargo room. This turned out to be the Tacoma Regular Cab. I started to keep an eye on the web site of the local Toyota dealer, and when I saw they had a 2013 Regular Cab manual, and a 2014 Regular Cab automatic, I got moving.

To my surprise, I was able to complete the entire transaction on a Saturday morning, ending up only a half hour late for lunch. Even that was my own fault, as I had to return home for my checkbook.

Having high-centered more than one car in the snow, the 4WD Tacoma's high ground clearance is a real plus. I noticed a Chevrolet Equinox at the local convenience store. It seemed to set rather low, so I looked up ground clearance online. The Tacoma 4WD has 2.4" more clearance.
