I really hope there is a simple solution to my problem. A couple weeks ago my truck started hesitating when shifting from 4th to 5th gear. I have to let off the gas sometimes just so it shifts, otherwise it will just sit at 3 grand rpm and not go. It's an automatic, assuming since it's only doing it from 4th to 5th that it has nothing to do with codes. Anyone with any insight on this issue please feel free to post. As always I appreciate your guys help!

Sounds like your throttle position sensor is out of range meaning that your ECU thinks you have your foot mashed to the floor . The trans is completely computer controlled and proper diagnostics require a scanner .

Ever flushed transmission? if so was WS fluid used? These transmissions have to use toyota ws fluid. Flushes with high miles also isnt a good idea, just fyi. Kinda sounds like a 4-5 clutch slip. Whats the miles on your truck?

Almost 200,000km so 120k miles. I bought the truck at 100,000km but never had the tranny flushed since i've owned it. Should probably get it done?

Probably a sticking solenoid. A flush may take care of it.

If you get a flush, make absolutely sure you get a new filter too. I made this mistake on my 4Runner and had to get it done a 2nd time.

Having the same issue with mine. Try cleaning off your MAF (take special attention in doing so) and clean your Throttle body valve. You may see results but not 100 percent. Make sure your filter is clean. Are you Running a KN or other short Air induction?

I am experiencing this problem as well, specially when the truck is cold. Anyone want to chime in? I just hit 50k and have 15k with a supercharger.

When my tranny acts up, I put her in her place and she's fine again for a few months.

It does it very little when it is warm. In the mornings it is between 20 and 30 degrees when I feel it is most noticeable.

That seems normal. The transmission shifting is delayed when cold. It is programmed that way for emissions and warmup.
