Recall letters for Valve recall 2013/2014 Tacoma 4 cyl ?

How many of you have received a recall notice letter from Toyota on the Valve problem Recall? If so what was the build date for your Tacoma? Thanks, TJ

 

I got my letter in the mail today. The build date on my Tacoma was July 2013. I'm dropping it off Wednesday to have the recall repair done.

 

Got mine today, build date 9/2013 already have 3,500 miles on it no problems so far. Gonna have it done ASAP.

What are they saying the issue is? Haven't received one (yet). My build was 05/2013. Which flavor of taco? V6? TRD?

Got my letter a couple of weeks ago. Will get recall fix when the engine hits 5,000 miles.

 

Took my 2013 Tacoma 4cyl in for the Valve replacement recall last Friday the 10th of Jan. 2014. Had it at the Dealer at 8:00AM as soon as they opened and was told it was finished at 4:30PM that afternoon (Long Wait in the Lounge). Have about 200 miles on it so far and everything sounds ok. Guess I will know soon enough. Going to check the engine compartment for any loose stuff or leaks along the way. Dealer said that if I have any problems to bring it back, I said You Bet Your Ass I will!

 

Does this recall affect all 4 Cylinder Tacomas within the recall period, or just some of them? I have not gotten a letter, and when I enter my VIN on the official Toyota site, it says no recalls. Mine was built 09/2013.

As listed by Toyota, some 4cyl Toyota Tacomas built from Early July 2013 thru Early Oct. 2013 could have bad Valve springs that were not heat treated properly and could break causing loss of power or worse yet, destruction of the engine. You should be able to go to the web site shown in the last post and enter your VIN # to see if your truck is included in the recall. It took a while for me to receive my letter from Toyota. You do not need the letter to get the problem taken care of at your Dealership if your truck is in the recall.
