To flush or replace- that is the radiator service question.

My 2008 is a little past its scheduled 100k radiator service. Should I spend the extra cheese for a flush or is a simple drain and refill with the red Toyota stuff enough?

I would probably need to do some research on this. I change my own oil and diff, but that's all. The way I understand it is that a flush is more $$$ because they use more fluid by "flushing" the old stuff out and recirculating new stuff in as opposed to pulling the plug, letting it all drip out, then plugging and refilling.

Keep in mind that just pulling the plug on the radiator doesn't remove the fluid in the block. Flushing should replace most, if not all, of the fluid.

There are two drains on each side of the block you can open, as we'll as the one on the drivers side bottom of the radiator...

No need to flush, and certainly don't use the garden hose

This post shows what you're looking for...
