Is there a way to protect lights from theft

Just ordered a set of rigid d'2 and a 20" sr. Is there a way to protect them from theft. I am mounting mine in a new plate bumper.

 

Tack weld any bolts in. And don't use an aluminum mount, and make the mount difficult to cut. A local guy just had his light bar stolen. They cut right through the mount.

 

Mine are being mounted behind the bumper. What is a tack weld.

 

Agreed with post above, use a carriage bolt ( smooth top ) then weld or put some JB weld on the threads. The downside you will have to use a dermal tool to cut the bolt off if you needed to remove it. Ultimately if someone is determined to take it they will, these measures will only slow them down a bit.

 

Steel brackets, grade 8 mounting bolts, tack welds on the nuts/bolt ends.

 

Tack weld is a single bead of a weld on the side of the nut to prevent it from being unscrewed.
