Great, I hope that this will include the 09 also. In the same time you will have to live with him ( the supercharger) in the same room. Sorry. Ha, ha. Hey, at least you got hell of a deal on Ebay.

Figured I'd ask a question for the TRD S/C owners out there, while you two wait for your installs.

All the videos I've seen on YouTube (all 3 of them ) have a lot of intrusive whine in the cabin on acceleration. Now, I wouldn't mind the whine, but it seems very loud.

    My questions are as follows:

Is the S/C whine annoyingly noisy? Or is it not as loud as it sounds?

Does the whine remain all the time, or only when really forced to go? Will it settle down when at a cruising speed? Will it get loud if I'm just normally getting up to speed???

Also, about the S/C: I know some aftermarket kits, especially some with eaton components, don't recommend using the S/C in cold weather (30*F or below). I think eaton actually recommends removing the belt for winter use. I guess it has to do with the bearings or something. Does the TRD setup have the same restrictions? Or is it more civil.

THanks guys. I hope I'm not hijacking here... I figured it'd be related to decision making for others who may be interested in purchasing!

PS: While the URD setups seem nice...The TRD will leave me feeling warm and cozy knowing it has Toyota's warranty-god blessing.

All the videos you have seen are - Guy's that REALY floor it down.
You will hear the wine when you get on the Highway or if your rpm pass 2500.
Once you get on the Hwy becomes as smooth as before but with a lot more power.
I installed a boost gauge and is the best way to see how hard the supercharger works.

Depending on each guy foot but, I, barely see that gauge giving more then 2-3 psi. After I did the installation I test it and you really have to push it past the 4000 rpm to see 6-7 psi boost.

What you will love the most after,,, is the torque delivery. This is just perfect. No more down shifting at the slightest elevation.
This is the second Toyota with a supercharger and never heard of anyone that had to shut his supercharger in winter and (or) cold weather.

Toyota give you less Horse power but pretty bullet proof.

Ive run my supercharger in below zero conditions with out an issue, it loves every minute of it.

We range on average from -10 to 25*F for up to 5 months out of the year, most of the time the high for the day never comes near above freezing.

Ive made over 8 PSI on a stock pulley in favorable conditions (which is why its probably not recommended in colder temperatures).

PD Superchargers are loud, Turbos are Loud - its part of the fun. :D

I use my 2009 TRD super charged Tacoma to pull a 4000lb trailer in the mountains. Including Vail pass and the Isenhower Tunnel. When we do this trip 4 times a year the camper shell is also loaded to the roof. I just have to say it is sooo nice to still do the speed limit when loaded like this!
