Color matched SSM 2013 Grill

I hate to post about this after reading so many different threads.

My paint guy does awesome work but he won't prep/paint my existing chrome grill. He said to find a "black" grill and he would paint it for me. I think he means more like "unpainted".

So far I've only found: http://www.partsgeek.com/ss/?ssq=tacoma+grill&year=2013 (at the top which is painted grey) which is about 109/shipped. I wouldn't imagine he would charge me more than say 50 or so to paint it... maybe slightly more if he does the removal/installation.

I can't seem to find the part number for a NEW OEM SSM grill but I'd be curious as to the price vs buying this one and having my guy paint it. I'm not really interested in any aftermarket grills... I just don't like chrome and I kind of like having the option to put the original part back on.

Thanks in advance for helping a new taco lover out. I've painted things like this before but it was always flat black. At least with SSM the chrome doesn't stand out as much.

Don't remember part number but look on ebay. Want to say I got my 11 ssm oem grille for under 200.00. Will try to find link

Found a good match for my year on eBay. Trying to get rid of all the chrome on my taco.

Does anyone have installation instruction or a youtube link?

 

Removal is simple. 2 bolts at the top and 2 (IIRC) plastic push body pins. Push down on the clips holding the bottom of the grill in place and it comes right off. 1 min. job max. Very simple once you look at it.
