Leased a Taco...

... now I'm stuck trying to create a bada** listening set-up that I won't dread dismantling in 3 years. I know almost zip on building my own system beside what I've been reading on TW & various car audio websites over the last week (BTW TW has been a HUGE help). I am not going to mess with the HU but still want good sound, i.e. I think adding an amp & going the composite route isn't entirely out of the question.

Basically what I'm hoping for from the membership here would be a few suggestions or websites that could enlighten me on how to get the best sounding cab without getting too invasive. Thanks in advance for your time.

Ha! Yeah I didn't really expect to be in the majority here as far as leasing goes. Once I get this sound system squared away though my mod plans more or less stop.

I'm thinking the set-up for me is going to rely on the Sound Ordnance B-8PT & a digital signal processor - the 6.5s, tweeters & amp have yet to be researched. Sound deadening in doors & back wall.

 

Depends on what system is in there now. I had the JBL system with Nav and found out the hard way that the HU is worthless without the amp (at least as far as I could research). The HU put out very low signal, too low for my amp to receive, as though the AMP should have been built into the HU. Anyway, here is my build with prices and pics:
