So I have finally saved up enough money to purchase a decent lift, but I'm a little on the fence about what lift to get. I know I can save some money and still get a decent lift with pro comp, but I'm leaning toward the quality of the icon lift, more specifically the icon stage 3. Any last minute pointers, pros and cons, or opinions are appreciated! Help me out!

If I was to do a mid travel set up I would do 2.5 Kings with Camburgs 1.25 UCA.

I have fox's and I can definitely say king is the way to go. If I could go back, I would've gotten kings.
It really depends on how much you want to spend. There really isn't a "wrong" way to go.
Now for the pro comp lift, it's a nice kit. One of my good friends has it on his FJ and loves it. If you want to spend 500, then get the pro comp lift. If you want to spend over 1200, get the king or icon or fox co's.
I'd def recommend the spc lr uca's though. If you wheel real hard, you may want to get a uniball uca like the total chaos or camburg 1.25's. But the "light racing" or some medium off-roading, the spc uca's will be fine.
But again, there really isn't anything wrong with the pro comp set up. It's a quality set up but if you want to spend more and if you want to ride smoother, go king, icon, fox, etc.

Icon stage 3 with tubular UCAs and never look back.
Rides like butter even with the C/Os cranked to 3".

Some good advise has been posted here. Yes Kings with Camburgs is a quality setup, but one I personally have not driven.

I have not ridden in a ProComp setup either.

My personal truck is not even to an ICON 3 setup, mainly since I did not want to raise the truck. I have ICON 2.5's in the front with rezzy and have them with the shorter internal spacer for less travel. Stock springs set to pretty much level the truck. Rear is the same as the Stage 3 kit, VS aluminum shocks with rezzys. I also have Camburg oem ball joint upper arms hoping to outlast uniballs here where we get a lot of wet roads to travel.

If I could make a change, I would aybe try and get the 2.5 ICON rears instead of the 2.o series.

So I agree with the post above mine saying stage 3 but substitute the machined billet upper arms for tubular steel upper arms and take the cost savings and upgrade the rear shocks to 2.5. I would check first to ensure the 2.5 rears will work with the stage 3 rear spring mod.

FWIW, my truck is actually pretty good as is, but the front in my opinion easily outperforms the back. The back tended to flail and lose that planted feel over roller type bumps at speed. If you slow down the rear can handle it better. FWIW, the truck has been over 70 mph off-road with no issues except rollers, and those were taken well below 70 mph. The rollers shape and spacing was such the truck in front of me with Bilstiens got the rear pretty high off the ground and we were doing maybe 30. My truck truck was far more controlled, and did not pop the rear in the air, but could have been better. Point is, you will be increasing the spring capability, but not increasing the rear shock capability more than mine. Might be better to increase both spring and shock capability.

On road, my setup is real good. I removed the sway bar recently, and yes there is a bit more body roll, but the firmer front springs keep it in check.

Kings and Camburgs, or Icon Stage 3 with tubuar arms and 2.5 rears. Either way should be a great setup. And both should be USA made.

I removed my sway bar also, it is a much better ride, and although I'm more likely to roll, i for some reason feel like I have MORE control with the sway bar off.

I also have 700lb eibach coils on my fox's so that makes it a little more controlled.
PS- i have the leftover brand new fox 600lb coils that came on my coilover's if anyone wants them at a reasonable price.

To clarify some wording in my previous post, the stock springs I mention are ICON springs as delivered on the shocks. Rear springs are oem TSB 4 leafs.

I had fox setup on a 2012 DCLB with deaver leaf pack and remote resis. Truck was totaled. Second truck ordered custom valved ICON for DOwn SOUTH Motorsports. Front 2.5 rear 2.0. Truck is so smooth on street and just as good as fox offroad probably better. Go with Icon!

I put the 3" ProComp with AAL. I love the kit and how easy it was to install. Did it all by myself. The more expensive kits like ICON are still great kits and you do get what you pay for. The ride on my truck isn't bad but stiffer than stock. I grew up in old trucks and Jeeps with stiff suspension so it wasn't a bother for me and the truck is my daily. I personally prefer stiffer suspension on a truck but to each their own. If you want a smooth like stock ride, ICON. You could always upgrade the ProComp shocks down the road for a better ride. Just a thought.
