I have a 27" tube TV sitting on a corner shelf up next to the ceiling. This thing weighs about 100lbs. Its about 20 yrs old. My ceilings are 12' in the garage.

I was standing under it letting my dog in for the night and the wind caught the door and slammed it shut. The vibration knocked that damn thing off the shelf and the glass hit me square on top of the head.

Knocked me backwards into the door. Didnt knock me out somehow. It bounced off my head and hit the concrete floor. The back of the tube broke and all the gas fizzed out of the tube. I was super lucky it was me and not my wife or kids, I honestly think it would have killed either of them. I dont know how I didnt get hurt more than I did. I was expecting a huge gash on my head and lots of stitches. Ended up with just a minor scrape and a softball size knot on my head. Its went down to a baseball size today. Constant minor headache since it happened, but i guess that is to be expected.

I dont think I have a concussion, i knew everything, my name, date, memories, everything was fine.

I'm lucky. Somebody upstairs was watching over me last night.

    Glad it wasn't worse!

You HAVE a form of concussion, maybe super minor. Go see your doc. Seriously, it is your head and there are lots of things that can go wrong down the line. GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR!

You don't want to just drop dead from a clot or some other thing like that, do you? GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR!!!!!

Glad to hear your okay. If you start feeling weird in any way go to the emergency room to get checked out just in case. I've been on calls where people will take trauma to the head and wont realize how bad it is till days later.

I thought this was in the ER? I must have been hit harder than I thought.

Just to be clear, I'm not a moron.
Cat Scan was negative. Dr said I was fine. If anything a very Minor concussion. Only thing I have to worry about is minor headaches for a few days.

I'm NOT a doctor, but I do play one on TW. Spray the affected area with WD-40 and wrap it in duct tape. Take 2 beers and call me in the morning. No, really, J/K.

    Glad you ok man!

x99999999 just because you can remember everything dose NOT mean you don’t have a concussion!

me and a buddy flipped a Kawasaki mule UTV and i busted my head open and his dad who is a doc gave me 6 stitches on my head. His dad said i have a light concussion even though i could remember everything. even how fast we where going and us telling each other not to try and stop it from flipping.

Glad you are OK OP but seriously go to a doctor and get checked out because it could have done more damage than you think.

I thought he was going to say he cut him self really bad or something fell on him(like a truck part) or that a jack failed and a car or truck fell on the ground. not a tv falling off a shelf and hitting him in the head.......
