dealer scam on carfax. What do i do??

That's correct. When done under warranty it really should not effect your resale value either. I think this is a way for them to diminish your value. Make you think you have less than you think. If its 5.9L Cummins 2007 you should not have any problem selling out right. I know my used car manager would be all over it. He can't keep them on the lot.

 

Are you sure it was a car fax report? Do you have the copy they gave you?

 

Pops drove the truck for 3 years without issues. Now you're claiming fraud?

 

Carfax is a very small piece of a puzzle to look at when buying a car, only authorized or certian shop or dealers report to them.

I had a pontiac g6 that was rear ended and repaired through insurance at a very reputable and popular body shop. The accident never showed on the carfax, even years down the road after i traded it i saw my old g6 on a lot, looked it up on the dealers website and the dealer didnt have my accident showing on the carfax.

Also if a wrecked car is traded in the car could be repaired and sold before the damage is reported to carfax.

My taco had a clean carfax when i bought it, now it shows a front and wreck with a deer on the carfax, i sure as hell didnt hit anything. It was reported after i bought it.

 

the dealer said its on carfax not them...they put in a "claim" with carfax to correct the mileage.

the truck is sweet,...has about 49k miles....most people have been offering about 28k..highest ive gotten is 31k cash

 

The dealer is just trying to screw you. I'm sure the truck is fine. GLWS

 

this. i dont even look at carfax cause it sure is hell isnt right. i had my entire quarter panel replaced on the car through insurance and the front bumper replaced. neither one showed up, when i went to get an estimate on trade in
