I am new to the forum and new to driving a Tacoma. I recently had a Subaru Outback that I used for my daily driver but switched to a 200 Tacoma DC for something more useful that can haul my kids, mx bike, etc. So far I love the truck! I am so happy to be out of car land and back driving a truck. My only concern is the truck has 222k miles on it. This being said it runs and drives better than my Subaru that had 167k on it. I'm no stranger to high mile vehicles but I always have that little bit of concern. I've read the threads about high mile vehicles etc but thought I'd ask for any new recommendations from tw members. Specific oil to use, most common parts to replace, etc. Thanks and looking forward to that 1mil mile club haha.

    Mods so far
    -debadged
    -shorty antenna
    -line x - bed
    -removed mud flaps and campershell

I have a pretty solid to-do list but here are a few of the biggies.
    -upgrade sound system
    -tint windows
-upgrade suspension, no lift just replace shocks, springs, leafs, etc.
    -muffler

Pretty much stock with some crap welded to it.
i would probably make sure the timing chain has been done, make sure the cooling system is fresh and has good coolant, make sure the tranny fluid is full and has been changed somewhat recent, and just use like a full synthetic high mileage oil, i would probably change the plugs/wires too but i usually do that on all my new cars just so i know they've been done somewhat recently, but if everything else seems good then just enjoy it tacomas are known for being unstoppable! especially first gens ;) so enjoy atleast another 100k of problem free driving :)

I agree on the suspension. May never even get to that point but it's on the list none the less. Thanks for the help.
