I have been shopping for wheels. I want 15in. aftermarket steel wheels. I have been able to use various websites that allow me to input vehicle info and then they suggest a wheel, including dimensions (diameter, offset, back space etc) but when I comes down to actually phoning (to check on shipping and availabilty etc) I am always told my choices will not fit. For example I am just off the phone with 4wheelparts.com I like the rockcrawler 51 rims they seem to list a size that would seem to match the numbers I have seen while researching rims yet when I call I am told there are no steel wheels that will fit.
I have 2008 2WD 4cyl access cab If anyone can help me understand what I am missing I will be greatful.
    Thanks,

What are they telling you won't fit. Is it the lugs or the hub? I am just wondering. In my opinion I would not deal with 4wheel parts I just had a bad experience with them and my rims. Try calling the companies you wish to deal with directly. I ended up going through a local shop here but ordered the rims from the manufacturer of the rim.

I hadn't run across that problem but I was shopping for 17" wheels. I'll do some searching.

Ok let me fill you in on what I have found. Here we go I have called 3 different shops. The verdict is in, yes your calipers may be causeing the problem but it is hit of miss. Toyota uses 3 different calipers and I don't know how to tell which one they put on which vehicle. I talked to a guy that told me that his tacoma prerunner has a steel wheel on it and it clears the caliper by a hair. Now they have all had good luck with with 16" rims. They suggested to me that I should find a shop near me and try out different rims if I must have the 15 or go ahead and look into a 16. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

What size rims do you have stock? Do you have a Prerunner or no?

Do you have 5-lug or 6 lug?

Ive had the same problem. Soon as I have the money, Im just going to buy some 07+ rav4 wheels. They are 5lug, and most newer toyos are 5lug also.

What specs are you looking for in a rim?

Here's some info you might find useful.
    http://www.customtacos.com/forum/showthread.php?t=74917
    http://www.customtacos.com/forum/showthread.php?t=75023

Did the guys on the phone say *they won't fit* or that they're not available in what you're looking for?
Or perhaps the offset that you want is wrong for what you should get....(just guessing)

Here's another thread of guys with mini's - you might wanna scroll through and see what others are running

I called a few shops after reading his thread and I was told that they don't know what aftermarket 15" rims would fit they haven't run across any yet. It would be a trial by error method to find out.

i have 15 inch cragar soft 8's there 15x8 with 4.5 backspacing they did rub the caliper but a few laps around the block and it grinds it right down, that or you can take an angle grider to the caliper and shave it a couple millimeters
