I recently found a full GP engine with the M90 supercharger at a junkyard and I can get whatever I want off of it for a really good price. Now I'm thinking about putting together a SC system. I know that I need the charger itself, another idler, a longer belt, wideband O2, something to read AFR and IAT, and someway to tune my ECU. I know that an intercooler is recommended and so is a larger fuel pump. Can I run the charger without an IC and better fuel pump if I keep the boost low? I do plan on getting both in the future (like july) but I'm wanting to get some boost before then if possible. I know that putting this charger in will take some fab time/skill for mounting stuff and the piping. Also, can I use the UniChip that came in my truck to retune for the charger? I know that I'll need to increase the fuel going in and possibly retard the timing, which I can do on the UniChip. Is there anything else that I'll need to change on the tune? I currently have an Airaid "cold air intake" and the TRD catback installed. And yes I know that the Airaid intake isnt that great but it came on the truck. Any and all help is appreciated.

How do you plan on attaching the supercharger to the engine and to the intake manifold?

What I was planning on doing was mounting it where the factory intake box and tubing is and running piping to the intake manifold. I've seen it done before and it works pretty well. Obviously not quite as clean looking as the TRD kit would be, but if done right it can still look pretty good. Haven't decided whether I want to put the throttle body before or after the charger. And I was going to add that I also know I'll need bigger injectors if I want to add much boost

Really all I need to know at the moment is if I will be ok running without an intercooler if I keep boost low and if my unichip is capable of the tuning adjustment that I need.

How do you plan on doing that? How are you going to route the belt? You cant attach it to the body, it must be attached to the motor. Do you know how a supercharger system works?

Honestly for the time, and money searching for parts to a FACTORY TRD supercharger body (I know its an M90), people are almost always told to pass on a deal with just the blower. The extras can be a pita to find and pricey I've heard.

I wouldn't run it without an ic...... We are high compression already, I wouldn't chance it myself.

The fuel pump def has a weak spot at higher demand even low boost.

Shit ur gunna have to crack the blower open to see how things look and at leastchange the oil in the snout. Who knows how well it has/hasn't been treated.

U hunna run an ems to configure the new injectors?

The nose on a grand prix m90 is significantly longer than the nose of the trd kit so it can be mounted farther back. There's also a lot of different length belts that can be used. Plenty of options that are long enough. You can mount it to the body, I've seen it done successfully on a 1st gen tacoma. However, that wasn't my plan. I was planning on making a plate to seal off the too of the intake manifold and using the bolts on it for the bracket to mount the supercharger.

There are a lot of superchargers with the throttle body before the supercharger. As in, the order of the setup is filter->throttle body->supercharger->ic->manifold. Almost every production kit for any ford or gm engine is setup this way.

I've about decided that I'm just going to wait till I can get an intercooler, injectors, walbro 255 and probably an x1 all at the same time. And at that point I may just say screw it and get a trd kit.
