Driveline Problems 5 years later

    Well, the shop that first mentioned the wheel bearings said that you could physically move the wheel back and forth while it's suspended in the air (obviously the suspension and everything doesn't move). However, we didn't determine that my wife's actually needed to be replaced until we put new tires on and noticed uneven wear immediately. That fixed the issue in her car and we didn't have much play in the wheel at all.

    I would think that if you took it to a shop and told them that you wanted to confirm if that's the problem that they might not charge you (in hope that you let them do the work). The shop that I took it to didn't charge.

    Another way to test is to see if the vibration gets better/worse when you turn the wheel to the left and to the right.

    When are you going to do the front bushing?
