Billies 5100's front set to 1.75 plus 1/4 taco lean spacer. Rears Billies plus AAL for a 2" leaf. 265/75/16 BGF's. Double din Kenwood stereo w/bluetooth and steering wheel controls and JBL speakers front & rear. Heavy duty battery. Billet grill blacked out. K&N air filter and MBRP cat-back. Just tuned it up new plugs and new front brake pads. Steel powered coated tailgate cap. Billet Grill painted black & factory roof racks. Oh new head lights thanks to toyota.
I ordered a new head unit online a double din kenwood DPX500BT. I want to upgrade my speakers also. Crutchfield says i can use either 5 1/4" or 6 1/2" speakers front or rear doors??? Which is it? I searched and found guys using 6x9's in the front doors?? what size speakers fit the best? W/out removing my door panels what size are OEM? Oh and which make did you use? I'm leaning towards Kicker but looking at others in same price range. Not install an amp or sub, only door speakers front & rear.

    Thanks
    Jim

I'm pretty sure the fronts are 6x9 whereas the rears are 6.5". I found it hard to find 6x9 components, although kicker does make them. Plenty of other members have installed speakers this size in the front.

I had a pair of 6.5 infinity kappa speakers I wanted to match up with mine, so I purchased 6x8/5x7 infinity kappa component speakers for the front and mounted them up. I wasn't originally planning on installing an amp, but I found this mini Clarion amp which fits in the dash without sacrificing under seat or cargo space, and puts out just enough oomph for the speakers I used.

FYI, you will have to either order or make custom mounts for the fronts, rears and tweeters if you decide on replacing those.

Try this for more information. I ended up making my own adapter rings for the 6.5" Hertz speakers in my front and rear doors.
