Tonneau cover recommendation

Good morning,

I recently purchased a 2012 TRD Double Cab with a 6ft bed. It came with a bed liner and a bed rail system. I am very interested in purchasing a tonneau cover but have no idea if the bed rails would cause a problem. I am looking for a tri fold that is easy on, easy off in the $250-$299 range. Any recommendations.

Bed liner? The 2nd Gen Tacoma's (2005 - 2014) all have a composite bed. Idon't think 'I’ve ever seen one with a bed liner. Also, you can find many used tonneaucovers compatible with the rail system which has also been around since 2005.Good luck!

 

I had a Lund Trifecta on my 6 foot bed. It attaches to the rail system and works very well. And you can install or remove it in less than 5 minutes with no tools needed. They run about $320. Tonneau covers are like oil. Everyone on here is going to tell you why their brand is the best.

Edit: Lund Tri-Fold, not trifecta. Got my covers mixed up there.

 

Extang Trifecta. Had mine 2 years and i love it. You keep the bed rails and they are still useable. Can take off the cover in 2 minutes if needed. Also only weighs around 20-25 lbs. Also lifetime warranty...but i assume most covers have one.

 

Least expensive tri-fold that I could find was Tunno pro. I got mine from Summit shipped for 269 last summer. Look around, you may find it even a little less.

 

I have the tonnopro as well. It is the cheapest one I could find. With mine, there is about a half inch gap between the tonneau seal and the the FRONT bed rail. Someone has a cheap easy mod posted here somewhere to fix that. I got it for the price, and have no complaints.

 

I got one of these late last fall and if is really the cats ass for what I need ,, tri-fold ,, easy on off (if desired) and well worth the money,,, my suggestion would be to save up and get something of better quality,,,in my experience you get what you pay and that is the case for these as well ,,, take it for what it's worth,,,,

I like the one made by Truxedo they have a verygood life time warranty

 

When someone posts about an item, and wants to spend in the "$250 to $300" range, why would someone recommend a $1,000 item????? There's reasons he wants to spend 2 to 3 hundred...those reasons are none of my business, I'll just respect them.

 

Tonno pro sells a decent one for around 3 bills.
I have an Extang Trifecta soft trifold works great.
The last one I had on my 06 for almost 5 years without issue with below zero temps and 90+ heat, heavy snow & ice.
Never leaked & easy to install.
It is alittle more expensive around 375 I think I paid.
Talk with the vendors on here they will hook you up with a pretty decent price. That is where I bought mine.
It fits right into the bed rail.

I have a Truxedo roll-up which might hit the high end of your range. Originally bought it for my 2006 Std cab, but took it off when I traded and put in on my 2014 Access. Works fine. I like that it doesn't block the rear window when rolled up. I'll add a PopnLock for some 'minimal' security.

I like my Extang Trifecta. I have the model with the canvas type fabric. Holding up great after 2 years and looks good too.
