Steering Wheel Interface Module

    Billies 5100's front set to 1.75 plus 1/4 taco lean spacer. Rears Billies plus AAL for a 2" leaf. 265/75/16 BGF's. Double din Kenwood stereo w/bluetooth and steering wheel controls and JBL speakers front & rear. Heavy duty battery. Billet grill blacked out. K&N air filter and MBRP cat-back. Just tuned it up new plugs and new front brake pads. Steel powered coated tailgate cap. Billet Grill painted black & factory roof racks. Oh new head lights thanks to toyota.
    Hi more stereo questions. Has anyone install a Steering Wheel Interface Module? If so which one did you buy and where did you buy it?

    I picked mine up from a local car audio place. You will have to cut three wires in the dash harness, but they'll tell you which three, of course. You can also program the buttons for two functions. For example, if I press the volume down button once and let go, obviously it drops the volume by one notch. If I hold it down, though, it cuts the volume in half. Nice if something comes on, like a commercial, after you've been listening at high volume.

    This (Axxess Metra
    $68 ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Control Interface
    ASWC-1) is the one I just installed last weekend. As well as this (Metra 70-811) harness for it. The harness makes the installation much easier. Only wire I had to splice was the power and ground. I just grouped them with the new stereo harness.

    I didn't have to do any programing. Just turn the key on & it started working. I think it's actually a quicker response than the stock radio. Could just be me though ;).

    That sounds even better, thanks. Where did you buy them from?

    I ordered the interface & harness through Amazon (I have a gift card). I bought everything else from Sonicelectronix.com. I've ordered a couple time from them & have always been happy.

    Also make sure the replacement radio will accept a interface. I don't know what you know or what research you've done, but not all will.

    Level 8 Wheels, Bilstien/Eibach lift, 2" aal, blacked out rear bumper, AC drain hose relocation, sound deadening 4 doors and back wall, amp/speaker upgrade, 10" daytona sub, LED interior lights.
    I used this one also, make sure you have the proper one for your radio, mine was for a pioneer.
    I had the SwiJack for my alpine and I hated that thing, go with the metra one it is much easier and more user friendly.
