This is the truck with the original grill, except with a black plastidip-ed emblem.
I did not like the look; thought about a grill guard, but none of them seemed right. I looked at some post of a raptor style grill, which looked great. This is how I proceeded.

    I first installed a grill from http://www.customcargrills.com.
Watch the video that explains how to install a new grill; this gave me an idea of what I was getting into.
    http://www.customcargrills.com/Toyota-Truck-Grills.asp
I ordered the Perf SS grill along with some autogoop to get it glued into place. The total cost with shipping was around $70.
Thanks to chipnoreo and her "How to build a T Rex" thread for this tip.

Then I glued (using autogoop) on the "TACOMA" letters that I ordered from http://www.bayareametalfab.com/Raptor-Letters_p_42.html. With the powder coating option they cost about $90.
Thanks to HOMERTACO for this tip.

Take a look at the pics showing the grill with the new mesh, and then after I added the "TACOMA" and re-installed it.

    TOTAL COST OF ABOUT $160

Truck looks great. I have a 2013 and didn't realize I could do that grille so cheaply and relatively easy. It looks great

I would love to do the raptor grill but if I did It would totally negate the behind the grill off-road lightbar setup that I have :(

Oh well I guess, functionality before looks.
