First post here. Thanks in advance for the help.

My 97 4x4 3rz has 257K. I checked and it had two burnt valves and a bad IAC. My Fiance's dad owns a shop and as a joke/xmas gift he snatched it up before I could fix it and had his guys start tearing it down. Certainly can't complain, although I was curious how some stole a vehicle that wasn't running at first. It took two months, but got a machined head, new cups and o-rings for the injectors, new toyota IAC....

They only problem is that it wants to idle about 1,000 rpm when warm and about 1,250+ when cold. Previous to the bad IAC it would idle at a nice 700 or so. Any ideas on what or how to adjust it? I checked the throttle body cables and made sure they weren't too tight.

    Thanks again.

Maybe you need to readjust your TPS. My idle bumped up when I cleaned the throttle body and IAC, now I just need to check to see if the TPS is in spec.
