04 PreRunner 730 mi Trip Review

    Ok guys so I thought I would share how my trip went with my 2004 2.7 Tacoma Reg cab Auto on 305/70/16s with STOCK 3.91 Gears!! :eek: Traveling from Tampa FL to Nashville TN. After keeping tabs on my Scan Gauge I noticed that my Trans Temp would run usually about 135 - 150 while cruising at 65 MPH according to speedo, but really 75+ with the tires. The Highest I saw it climb was 201 and that was with the OD off and traveling through the mountains, but dropped immediately once OD was engaged and Torque converter locked in. Over time I have learned how to feather it to prevent excess shifting on hills etc.. and Noticed I was rolling at 1950-2100 RPM plus minus going 65 MPH ( Speedo Really 75+) and I ended up making the trip for about $110 bucks! Cant beat 25 MPG. Is there anyone else running this setup? I know its a dog, but I didn't buy a sports-car..only mods I have are the Deck Plate as far as performance.

    Did I mention I had about 200-250 lbs in the bed...
