The worst part is finding the damn insert. Pretty sure it runs over $100 for a piece of plastic

But yes this even beats rock auto because of free shipping. Rock auto has them for $131 but shipping is also $131. Good find though!!

Any ideas to weather this is a full hood or just an outer shell? I'm not sure.

If you look at the other pictures it shows it's the full assembly.

 

Full hood minus scoop insert. Pretty sure the insert runs $90-120 ish but still that beats getting just the hood from rock auto. Add paint and you're good to go. Maybe some day, I would rather get a stock painted hood but my color is rare enough..

 

What's the website to buy the hood scoop insert?

 

And what would be the downfall to this vs. A factory hood?

 

I would look a site up, but I'm on my phone and its a pain. Just look on different toyota parts websites for the hood scoop insert. Camelback toyota is a vendor on here I think and he has a good range of parts. People prefer factory for the belief that it is better fit, function, and construction.
