OK. I hate to start a thread on this cause I'd about bet there's at least 300 on here about it but my cell is being stupid and I can't search for sum reason. Anywho I'm trying to figure out where to mount my connex 3300hp radio in my taco. Any advise on as to where would be a good mounting location without having to disassemble my truck or cut/modify my dash or console? Pics if u have them.

I will get some pictures of our recent install tomorrow. We just put in a Galaxy DX 959 ,which is a pretty large radio like the Connex. I couldn't find anyplace where it was really practical except on the passenger side of the center console. I have a 5 speed, and it was easy to pull the cup holders out and mount the bracket. I have passengers a lot, and the radio does not interfere at all, and in this position it makes all the knobs and frequency counter easily accessible. It was also easy to run the coax from a hood mount ant. bracket, through a grommet by the steering wheel, and conceal the extra wire under the cup holders in the console, for a clean install..the problem I have run into is where to put the linear ? Next project....

I fabbed up a bracket, and mounted mine like this:

I don't often have passengers, but the ones that I've had aboard didn't seem to find it in the way.

I ran mine through the handbrake cable grommet, and up the rear. It's not the cleanest install, but I didn't want to drill through my roof for the two-way radio antenna, so that cable runs up that way too. I run the sat radio and cell phone booster cables through the SRW.

No full sized radio is going to fit there,
