    Yep. Air injection pump for emissions control system. It is commonly used to help diagnose oxygen sensor problems, as well as catalytic converter problems.

    That would be a question for the engineers. I really do not know.

    Emissions control are not stupid. Drive around the smog infested areas of California. Emissions is needed if we EVER want our children or grandchildren to have the ability to breath without inhaling all this exhaust.

    Nope, theyve been in all of the 4 cyl trucks since 2005
