x2! if/when you decide to do this mod, I am down to lend a hand or two :)

I think a lot of the PNW guys are itching for a Mod-Day, or at least an excuse to get together and drink tons of beer and eat good grub!

Lots of lead time to get all the parts, tools and refreshments needed for a Tacoma mass mod day. (TMM Day....hmmmm)

Nice! That seems like a damn good deal, and you'll still end up paying less than Muth Co. mirrors or the 4R mirror conversion.

Good luck man, hope your guy does a clean install

For Step Rails / Nerf Bars...it really depends on the "look" you want.

My dad has the OEM Toyota tube steps on his Taco and he seems to really like them. They come in Black or Chrome.

I, personally, think the N-Fab offerings look pretty decent. Provides a Step for your little lady, and still maintain an "aggressive" look on your rig. Browse the B/S/T section here, you might be able to find some from another member.

I agree man! I've done this mod twice now, and it is pretty tedious/time-consuming. If you have a guy willing to do it for $100 then..

I just took advantage of the group buy for some nice ProEFX towing mirrors and browsed over to this thread to see what was involved in getting the heat hooked up. Oh man, I think this is well outside my comfort level! Maybe if I read through it a few dozen times it'll start to sound less intimidating.

Don't forget... step 4 is your starting point here since you are buying the ProEFX mirrors.

It is really not too bad, running a few lengths of wires and crimping on some connectors and that's about it.

Wait, I see that you're in Olympia! Send me a PM when you get your mirrors and I can give you a hand if needed.

That makes me happy. The fewer the steps the better!

I might just take you up on that offer! They are supposed to ship from Portland, OR, so I should see them soon. I'll see if I can locate and order the other pieces needed and let you know.

Thank you for all the info on this thread. I did this install on my 3 week old 2014. I didn't like the idea of ripping my door panels off on such a new car but surprisingly it was an easy task that didn't seem to damage any of the clips too bad. Overall it was an easy install. Anyone considering to do this should just do it. I had heated mirrors on my last car and couldn't see myself moving forward without this mod. $200 seems like a good value for the benefit.

A couple things that might help: I assembled the entire wiring harnes before I even touched the truck. That left me with plugging in the fuse-tap, attaching the ground, splicing into the two dimmer wires, and then plugging in the leads to the mirror. I actually ran two wires to each of the mirrors and used a common ground to minimize any load resistance variation between the two mirrors. Call it OCD. The hardest part was snaking the wires through the door grommet. Also, it took me a minute to figure out that you had to dissassemble the entire mirror housing to run the wires.

It was an awesome day. I installed fog lights, skid plate, heated mirrors, TRD off-road wheels, LED interior lighting, and door sill gaurds all in one day. The mirrors took about 3 hours. Pre-building the Wiring harness help cut down the install time. Later will hard rewire the fuse-tap to solid accessory switch I located when doing the fog lights.

    Thanks again TW guys!
