I want to replace my stock 16" alloys on my 2001 4x4 with 15", preferably alloys. Would like to stay OEM. I have done a bunch of research and found a lot of conflicting info about what wheels will fit.

I know 15" wheels are an option for my truck, but it seems that they are only available in steel for the 01-04 trucks. For the 95-00 trucks there is a 15" alloy available:

Has anyone succesfully used that wheel on a 01-04 truck? The whole thing is confusing because some wheels are compatible with 95-04 trucks and others it seems like there is a difference between the 95-00 and the 01-04.

Related question, anyone know the weight of the 15" steel wheels vs the alloys?

Yes, they will fit. IIRC the only 1st gen's they don't work on is 04's with VSC.

    Here's my 02:

Thanks for the info. What kind of lug nuts are you using on yours?

For the wheels you posted up, you want the shank type nuts with the permanent washer, they are specific to ALL 6 lug taco alloy wheel from 95 to present...

since you have alloys already, just use the nuts you have now, they will be a perfect fit.....go for it...

    This.

However, I would double check that those will work. Some of the OEM 15" wheels used a different type than the ones with the washer. I can't recall exactly what they were, they aren't the washer type or the normal acorn type. One of the locals here bought a set of OEM 15" 6 spoke alloys, and ended up having a very hard time finding the lug nuts for them.

Most likely OP your's will use the washer style.
