My radio controls on the steering wheel have been out since I purchased the truck. I've recently noticed that when I turned the wheel far enough in a certain direction they did come on intermittently, so it's not a fuse I assume it's a short in the wiring or loose connection. Any help to troubleshoot this or fix this would be appreciated.

First thing I would do is pull the HU and check for loose connections to the steering wheel harness.

Clock spring- This is the coiled wire (it's actually in a plastic case) thats underneath your steering wheel. There was a TSB on these. Might want to check with your dealer and see if you can get your's replaced free.

If not, an option is to replace it yourself. I did a writeup here

You can get replacement aftermarket clock springs on ebay. I had to straighten some pins on mine or else the horn would sound. Otherwise it's been working fine for several months now. Good luck.
